Unbelievable, but true! This month GEMHYPE.COM is celebrating his second birthday.

Founder siblings Isaline and Carl-Philip Arnoldi look back on the last two years emotionally but happily. Years in which they have founded independently an online platform for colored gemstones in the lower to medium price segment.

Looking back, it turns out: that was a good decision!

Does the family name Arnoldi sound familiar? That might be true. Because Isaline and Carl-Philip Arnoldi are the descendants and fourth generation of Carl Friedrich Arnoldi, the founder of a traditional gem-cutting and gem-trading company in Idar-Oberstein.

Regarding our birthday and the new constellation between GEMHYPE.COM and HC Arnoldi, we would like to make a closer look at the history of HC Arnoldi, so you can get to know the company better and learn more about HC Arnoldi.


A CENTURY OF COMPANY AND FAMILY HISTORY


COMPANY FOUNDED BY CARL FRIEDRICH ARNOLDI

Founder

After Carl Friedrich Arnoldi successfully completed his apprenticeship as a gemstone cutter and gained several years of professional experience, he founded his own gemstone cutting company in 1919. 

Carl Friedrich Arnoldi specialized in aquamarines and tourmalines and the company experienced a great boom in 1929 and 1930.



SON ERWIN ARNOLDI BEGINS HIS APPRENTICESHIP

2nd generation

Born in the year the company was founded, son Erwin Arnoldi also began an apprenticeship as a gemstone cutter in his father's company in 1933 and successfully completed it after four years of training.




HUBERT ARNOLDI BEGINS HIS APPRENTICESHIP

3rd generation

Hubert Arnoldi begins his apprenticeship as a gemstone cutter. He successfully completes this in 1977.

1988 NEW MANAGEMENT

For reasons of age, father Erwin Arnoldi resigns and hands over the company to the new management, consisting of his sons Hubert and René and his wife Geneviève Arnoldi.


ONE BECOMES TWO COMPANIES

4th generation

Carl-Philip Arnoldi joins the company. Due to the generation change, the four future managing directors decide together to found two new companies: Arnoldi International and HC Arnoldi.




THE TEAM IS COMPLETE!

4th generation

After Isaline Arnoldi has successfully obtained her master's degree in media and communication management she returns from Munich to her home country and joins the company.




TWO BRANDS - ONE FAMILY!


In the following, Isaline and Carl talk about their decision to found GEMHYPE.COM and why there is now a closer connection between the two companies GEMHYPE.COM and HC Arnoldi.



Isaline: Our thought was how HC Arnoldi, our family's traditional company, can embrace the digital transformation. After our studies, my brother and I wanted to make a fresh start in the field of digital distribution. We wanted to create a young, innovative, and sustainable brand for a new target group - the main idea of GEMHYPE.COM was born. Building a company from scratch and making independent entrepreneurial decisions were an important key experience within our career so far. 

HC Arnoldi offers the most expensive gemstones and covers the high-end range internationally - Aquamarines, Beryl’s, Tanzanite’s and many more gemstone variations of the highest quality are available here. With GEMHYPE.COM we also wanted to offer individual entrepreneurs, small goldsmiths, and jewelry manufacturers the opportunity to purchase calibrated goods and gemstones between 5 Euro and 20,000 Euro per piece.


Carl: We see advantages for the customer groups of both companies in the coming together of HC Arnoldi and GEMHYPE.COM. HC Arnoldi is pushed into the digital age by the GEMHYPE.COM online store. From now on, HC customers can easily access part of the gemstone assortment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without having to ask for a price beforehand, and they can enter orders directly. On the other hand, the B2B customers of GEMHYPE.COM have a qualified and international contact person for custom-made and high-end gemstones through the direct contact to HC Arnoldi. 

I also see that the two companies together are stronger in being able to react dynamically to the requests of our gemstone buyers and the market trend.


Isaline and Carl still want to be part of their family history. Carl-Philip is part of the HC Arnoldi management alongside his father and is responsible for sales. Isaline is responsible for PR and marketing at HC Arnoldi and passionately combines modernity with the tradition of craftsmanship.
